How to Set Up BulletVPN PPTP Manually on DD-WRT Router

Find your username and password for a manual VPN setup.

  • The Username is the email address that you used to create your BulletVPN account.
  • The VPN password for manual setups is not the same as the password for apps and the account. You can find it in the client area in the top-left green box next to "VPN Pass." Click Show to view it.

Note: Please have your Username and VPN password ready, as you will be asked to enter them later in the setup process.


 Find the VPN server address

To find the server address that you wish to use, please click here: Servers List.
Once you are on the servers list page, locate the VPN server address under Server Name.

 Configure your DD-WRT router

  1. Launch your web browser.
  2. Input your router's local IP address in the address bar. (It is usually 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.254).
  3. Input your router's login credentials when prompted.
  4. Click on Services in your upper menu, and select Services. Then, use the following settings:
    • DNSMasq: Disable
    • Telnet: Disable
    • ttraff Daemon: Disable
    • Click Save.

  5. Click on Security, and select Firewall. Then, use the following settings:
    • SPI Firewall: Disable
    • Click Save.

  6. In Security, now select Firewall. Then, use the following settings:
    • PPTP Passthrough: Enable
    • Click Save.

  7. Click on NAT / QoS, and select UPnP. Then, use the following settings:
    • UPnP Service: Enable
    • Clear port forwards at startup: Enable
    • Click Save.

  8. Now click on Setup, and select Basic Setup. Then, fill out the following details:
    In the WAN Setup area:
    • Connection Type: PPTP
    • Gateway (PPTP Server): Copy the VPN server address you found above
    • Username: Your account email address
    • Password: Copy the VPN password you found above
    • Use DHCP: Yes
    • MPPE Encryption: Enable
    • Packet Reordering: Disable
    • Connection Strategy: Connect on Demand
    • STP: Disable

    In the Network Setup area:

    • DHCP Type: DHCP Server
    • DHCP Server: Yes
    • Static DNS 1: 104.200.137.81
    • Static DNS 2: 212.32.240.145
    • Click Save.
    • Click Apply Settings.

  9. Now, click on Status, and select WAN. Then, click Connect, your router will now start the VPN connection. Login Status is changed to Connected (Note: please give your router a couple of minutes to start the connection).

  10. To disconnect from the VPN server, simply click on Disconnect
