How to Setup SmartDNS on Netgear Router

Important: If you have a Netgear router supplied by YouSee, please don't configure your router. If your Netgear router has parental control, you will have to disable it. Otherwise, your router will use OpenDNS servers instead of ours, and you will continue to get DNS errors on our site.

  1. Find your router's IP. Follow this guide for more information on how to get it.
  2. Open your web browser and enter your router's IP in the address bar.
  3. Log in with username and password. If you have not changed this info, the default is admin/password.
  4. Choose Setup and go to Basic Settings.
  5. Input 212.32.240.145 and 104.200.137.81 under DNS
  6. Click Apply and restart devices connected to the router.

Make sure that Parental Controls are not turned on: Read this article to learn how to turn them off.

Important

The first step of troubleshooting should always be to restart the device(s) and router. Then check your setup status in your SmartDNS dashboard
