What is a VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN aims to ensure the security and privacy of users connected to the virtual private network. This is achieved by encrypting the traffic you send over the network, regardless of where you currently reside.
How does VPN work?
Once you connect your device to our VPN servers, you will be assigned a new IP address. All your traffic is encrypted and tunneled through the VPN server you are connected to. Hence, you can surf the web anonymously, hide your real location and IP address, and bypass Internet filters and geographic restrictions.
What is an IP address?
First, it is important to differentiate between two types of IP addresses: Your external (public) IP address and your internal (private) IP address. Your external IP address is issued to you by your ISP. It indicates your geographic location. On the other hand, your internal IP address is issued by your router to the devices connected to it. Each device has a different private IP, but all the devices connected to your router share the same external IP address. Once you connect one of your devices to a VPN server, your ISP's external IP will be hidden, thus hiding your true location. Web sites or apps you visit while connected to VPN will only see the IP address the VPN server assigns you.
How Can I Check My IP Address?
You can see your IP address by visiting WhatIsMyIP.network.
Can I use BulletVPN with Kodi?
Yes, you can use BulletVPN with Kodi. To do so, you simply have to install our VPN app on the same device you are using Kodi on. Once done, launch the VPN app, sign in, and connect to a VPN server. To install BulletVPN on your device, follow the appropriate guide below.

Do you support DSTV in SA?
Yes, we do put a great deal in unblocking DSTV in SA for our users as we have optimized many servers for that purpose.
Do you support torrent?
Since we do not monitor or log your connection activity, your data will certainly not be shared with other parties, and your anonymity will be maintained throughout. However, we do encourage customers to use servers in P2P friendly countries like Spain, Switzerland, and The Netherlands as opposed to countries like the US and UK, where downloading torrents is not as safe and maybe even disrupted, throttled, and blocked.
Do you support Netflix?
Yes, we do support the Netflix US region with both our Smart DNS and VPN services.
Do you Support Wireguard?
Yes, all our servers now support Wireguard. You can benefit from the fast and secure connection that Wireguard guarantees, as well as the ability to break into the internet in High-level Censorship countries that implement Deep Packet Inspection (DPI).
That said, Wireguard is not currently implemented within the VPN app. While we are working on it to be available soon, we can provide Wireguard manual setup for any server that you choose. You just need to contact us at support@bulletvpn.com, and our team will provide you with all the necessary info and settings.
Do you support TVNZ?
We do give you access to TVNZ New Zealand by bypassing all geo-restrictions that our users may encounter.

Does VPN Slow My Internet Speed Down?
In some cases, connecting to a VPN server can reduce your Internet speed. The difference, however, is usually unnoticeable. Additionally, if your ISP throttles your traffic, using VPN can improve your Internet speeds.
What is Smart DNS?
Smart DNS basically is a proxy service that allows you to bypass geo-restrictions imposed on streaming channels. You can use Smart DNS instead of VPN to unblock certain sites not available in your region.
When Should I use Smart DNS Instead of VPN?
Devices like PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Apple TV, and Smart TVs are not natively compatible with VPN. If you want to access geo-blocked apps on these devices, you can use Smart DNS instead of VPN, given that Smart DNS can be configured via these devices' network settings. To set up Smart DNS on your device, simply login to your BulletVPN account and click on 'Smart DNS.' Then, choose your device under 'Setup Guides' and follow the instructions from there.
Does Smart DNS Hide My Public IP Address?
Your public IP address will not be hidden if you set up Smart DNS on your device. In case you want to hide your IP address, use a VPN instead.
Does Smart DNS Encrypt My Internet Traffic?
Smart DNS does not encrypt your Internet traffic. In case you wish to browse the web anonymously, use VPN instead.
Is Smart DNS Included In My BulletVPN Subscription?
Yes, when you subscribe to BulletVPN, you can also take advantage of our Smart DNS Proxy service. No extra charges are included when using Smart DNS.

On How Many Devices Can I Run BulletVPN Simultaneously?

Does BulletVPN Support P2P Applications?

What is a VPN Kill Switch?
A Kill Switch solves the issue of VPN connections abruptly stopping, leaving your connection exposed and unsecured. In case a VPN server unexpectedly disconnects, the Kill Switch will prevent your device from accessing the internet altogether. For more info on how to turn the Kill Switch feature on and off, please see this tutorial.
When is Kill Switch Activated?
If you have the feature on, Kill Switch will be activated as soon as you click the “Connect” button. Then it will be deactivated directly after clicking the “Disconnect” button.
What is BulletShield?
BulletShield is an additional security measure that will restrict your device’s ability to access the internet to the VPN connection. You will not be connected to the internet unless you are connected through one of our VPN servers.
Why Do I Also Need BulletShield?
In case you need full control over the security of your internet connection, Kill Switch won't be enough to protect your privacy since it only deals with server-side disconnections. This is where BulletShield comes in. It will disable your internet connection entirely and limit access to the internet through the VPN server.
